"Fast X Part 2" Set For April 2025

Jan 21, 2024

Timed with the imminent release of "Fast X" on digital platforms, Vin Diesel has used his Instagram to announce an April 4th 2025 release date for the next entry in the "Fast and Furious" franchise.

As previously reported, "Fast X" is the first of story that runs two parts, though Diesel teased a third might be on the cards. Whatever the case, it was previously announced that "Fast X" director Louis Leterrier is returning for ‘Part 2’ with Christina Hodson and Oren Uziel penning the script.

Then the other week came news of a new spin-off led by Dwayne Johnson's Luke Hobbs character who returns along with some other supporting talent from the main series. No indication at that time of when it would go into production.

(function (d, s, b) {var mElmt, primisElmt = d.createElement('script');primisElmt.setAttribute('type', 'text/javascript');primisElmt.setAttribute('async','async');primisElmt.setAttribute('src', s);var elmtInterval = setInterval(function() {mElmt = d.getElementById(b);if (mElmt) {mElmt.parentNode.insertBefore(primisElmt, mElmt.nextSibling);mElmt.parentNode.removeChild(mElmt);return clearInterval(elmtInterval);}}, 20);})(document, 'https://live.primis.tech/live/liveView.php?s=113101', 'widgetLoaded');

It begs the obvious question as to what's going first, with Diesel appearing to indicate that the "Fast X" follow-up is in pole position. It also seems some of the audience was unaware of "Fast X" being the first of a two parter as Diesel says in his posting today:

"For those who didn't know the Fast X was just part one, know that part two is going to be an effort from our fast family and studio like you have never seen."

Diesel also used the opportunity to congratulate co-star Jason Momoa who scored rave reviews for his "Fast X" role, the actor saying: "Jason wanted to try something totally unique and special and ended up creating a scene stealing character that the world won't forget".

The new date places "Fast X Part 2" up against the "Minecraft" movie – amusingly Jason Momoa stars in both.
